How to Choose a Cosmetic Dentist in Dallas

shutterstock_23121016Cosmetic dentistry, esthetic or aesthetic dentistry, smile makeover dentistry – none of these terms represent “real” specialties. They are not recognized by the ADA as specialties, so there are no regulations in place for dentists who claim to be cosmetic “specialists.” This can make it difficult for the patient – you- to know how to choose a talented and reputable cosmetic dentist. However, selecting the right dentist could make a huge impact on your smile, dental health, comfort, and confidence. [Read more...]

Dallas Smile Makeover Dentist

smiling-womanYou’ve probably heard the term “smile makeover” and wondered what, exactly, it means. Because studies show that people with an attractive smile appear more intelligent, successful, friendly, and youthful, it just goes to reason that by altering your less-than-appealing smile, your image will be dramatically enhanced. Take a look at my Smile Gallery, and you can see for yourself that smile transformation makes a significant difference in a person’s appearance.

When you think about a makeover, visions of surgical facelifts, rhinoplasty, and liposuction may come to mind. A smile makeover, however, is a series of conservative procedures based on a custom treatment plan to whiten, straighten, reshape, and/or replace teeth - and the result is an unforgettable smile. Other benefits include improved self-confidence in business, romance, and social situations. Some of my patients look ten years younger after a few cosmetic procedures, and you could, too! Cosmetic Bonding for Perfect Dallas Smiles

pretty-girlNot everyone needs veneers, though they are beautiful and vibrant. In some cases, I recommend cosmetic bonding. If you have a diastema (space between your front teeth), widely spaced front teeth, permanently stained enamel, or misshapen teeth, cosmetic bonding may pose a viable and inexpensive solution.

I use quality composite resin tinted to blend with a patient’s tooth enamel to correct flaws and improve overall appearance. This durable material is stain resistant, so I may also recommend professional teeth bleaching prior to bonding. By making your teeth bright and beautiful before bonding, we ensure the best esthetic outcome. [Read more...]

Cosmetic Dentistry in Dallas: White Porcelain Crowns

porcelian crown dallas dentistDo you have dark lines at the base of your crowns? Do your front crowns look bulky and fake? I’d like to give you a reason to smile with confidence again. White porcelain crowns will deliver the natural-looking, gorgeous smile that you deserve.

Dental crowns restore function, shape, and strength to damaged teeth. In the past, dental materials limited our ability to make strong, white crowns that looked natural. Most crowns were made of metal or porcelain fused to metal. Even today, because of the intense crushing pressure they must endure, for back teeth metal crowns are recommended. As we move forward in the mouth to areas that incur less pressure, porcelain fused to metal works well. It offers durability without compromising an all-white smile. On front teeth, however, porcelain fused to metal (PFM) is not the best cosmetic option.

PFM crowns tend to look black at the gum line; this is the metal showing through. On teeth that show in your smile, this black line is obtrusive and obvious. Also, because front teeth are thin, PFM crowns may add too much bulk, creating a fake appearance for restored front teeth. Some patients opt for veneers, a fabulous choice when appropriate, while others prefer all-porcelain crowns. [Read more...]

Making Dallas Shine: Zoom! Teeth Whitening in One Visit

couple-weddingWe’re creating bright smiles for bright futures! If you have a wedding or special event scheduled, or if you want to improve your image for personal and professional reasons, consider investing in a sensational smile. The most popular and fast smile enhancement procedure available today is teeth whitening. And the results will amaze you!

Over time, our habits and diet can cause a sparkling smile to lose its luster. Staining beverages – like wine, coffee, and tea – as well as some foods and medications darken tooth enamel. Smoking or chewing tobacco can also stain teeth. Yellow, gray, brown, or blue discoloration on teeth will make you look older. Fortunately, with modern teeth whitening solutions, I can brighten your smile four, eight, maybe up to ten shades in a single dental visit. Zoom! Whitening is a leader in safe, effective teeth bleaching, and this in-office system, paired with custom bleaching trays, allow patients like you to enjoy a brighter, bolder smile indefinitely.
